Dreamy ballads and indestructible party hits

Loved, hated, laughed at, but definitely immortal. These are the most important characteristics of a 7" single from the "Deutscher Schlager" genre. From a neutral perspective, nothing other than that the Schlager singles were vital for the national record market in their 70s and 80s heyday - and even more so naturally for all fans and friends of the German (ZDF) Hitparade at the time. The numerous hit classics of that time - whether party hits or romantic ballads - still convey an acoustic feeling of fun to this day. Add to that the nostalgic picture covers - and you automatically beam yourself back to the "good old" colorful analogue world with the cheerful flowers on the kitchen tiles.
