The big vinyl-single for the long songs

The first 12inch Maxi-Singles came onto the market in the USA in the mid-1970s. Initially they were produced specifically for use in discos. The first Europe copies were pressed at the end of the 70s. The wider groove of the 12" Maxi-Single ensured for higher playback quality and better sound quality compared to the normal 7" vinyl single. Accordingly, the Maxi-Single was initially marketed with the label "Super Sound Single". In the 1980s, the maxi single established itself in pretty much all commercial music genres. Sometimes it offered super long remix versions of up to 15 minutes of a single song, other times it offered rare (usually previously unreleased) live versions of each act. In our Tovi Records Shop we offer 12inch Maxi-Singles from all genres.
