Songs & Chansons about love, freedom and adventure

It is often the quieter songs that manage to tell impressive stories in an entertaining way with just a few words. In the USA it is mostly the interpreters of country songs who report in their lyrics about the fate and hard lives of the "ordinary people" of the country. The US songwriters interpret social developments in a more philosophical way, usually processing the “big picture” in terms of content.

The European chansons, on the other hand, deal almost exclusively with the number one theme in music: love. But they all have one thing in common: they are beautiful songs with great lyrics and are meant to last forever.
